The Agriculture and Rural Payments Agency’s mission is to serve as a customer focused organization delivering a quality service which includes the timely processing of payments and receipts, ensuring compliance with EU rules and regulations and disseminating relevant information to the farming community.

 

ARPA’s Role & Objectives
 

ARPA’s vision is to serve as a catalyst towards maximising the benefits from the Common Agricultural Policy. In this regard, ARPA’s objectives are to:

– Operate an effective administrative set-up
– Ensure efficient, effective and timely processing of claims
– Attain effective control procedures that would ensure that there is no risk to the use of public European Union funds
– Provide accurate and timely information to the European Institutions, local entities and most importantly to the local farming community.

 
Legal Basis
 

Paying Agencies are set up in accordance with the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) legislation, and specifically with Regulation (EU) 2021/2116 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 2 December 2021 on the financing, management and monitoring of the common agricultural policy and repealing Regulation (EU) No 1306/2013.

The Malta Agriculture and Rural Payments Agency is established in accordance with Subsidiary Legislation 146.03 Paying Agency Regulations.
